Labour working hard all year round

Labour supporters and councillors are already out campaigning around Reading for the return of a Labour Member of Parliament and to win back control of Reading Borough Council to protect services, give residents value for money and to keep the council tax and rents as low as possible without cutting services and hurting the vulnerable.
We have been out in Southcote on a twice weekly basis and we have received great support from Southcote people. Reading Labour meet with Reading people all year round, putting leaflets through their doors and holding regular surgeries about the issues that affect people and providing solutions which will enhance the people in areas like Southcote.
We haven't got the millions of an exiled Tory grandee who doesn't even live in the country to pay for people to deliver fancy leaflets of airbrushed politicians that actually say nothing about what they are going to do . We rely on ordinary people who live and work in Reading, whose families pay for services and whose children go to local schools.
We have seen residents become more receptive to our ideas of how to improve Reading. Whilst the others offer nothing but whingeing about Reading or offering empty promises of zero increases in council tax whilst not explaining how they are going to do this, or what services they will cut.
The next election will not be about a referendum on the Government or the local Labour administration but about who will offer the people of Reading the best policies and opportunities to improve their life chances. I am looking forward to it.
