New politics? or just same old expenses scandal, coalition in crisis

Well, they promised a new political scenery, but just 18 days in the coalition of Tories and their Tory apologists, Lib Dems have hit a crisis with the resignation of one of their most capable ministers, David Laws. It shows that barely three weeks in power and the Lib Dems have failed. David Laws, has been a hypocrite by telling his constituents in Yeovil last year that he was given the all clear on expenses, unlike other MP's whom he cried should resign from Government. Why did he not identify this problem last year, did he feel he would get away with paying his partner rent then claiming it back from the tax payer? Lib Dems have previously been the most vocal in screaming at political parties in power and calling for resignations and now they are in power they are under scrutiny.

The question that will need answering is why the Tory loving Daily Telegraph ran the story in the first place are they firing shots across the bow of the coalition over the issue of Capital Gains Tax? Bet they get their way and the wealthy don't pay as much as public service workers and people who rely on public services.
