Got up at 3.40am had same breakfast but with a banana. Switched onto Sky 813 and watched the prayers at Mecca, very moving. Realied that Ramadam is a massive world event and fast where countless millions of people take part and profess their faith to Allah. Mental belief and faith seem to drive people fasting, acting as a driver for their success.
Had a good sleep, over 7 hours, whooppee. Felt great and a sense of achievement, will carry on observing Ramadam until I reach £1.000, close as I have collected over £700.
Went canvassing in the morning around Southcote, had my haircut and I went to Reading Pride which was excellent. Worked in the labour stall and briefly met Dianne Abbott, the "peoples choice", not sure about that. All the time whilst my body was pointing to the bar and food outlets my mind was telling "why break your fast now you have come this way, keep going". Whilst I struggled to cope with no food or water, I was pleased and fulfilled about my mind and attitudes being in control. I found the day to be pleasant and I was able to deal with people not taking leaflets due to not liking Labour without any frustration, despite being hungry and thirsty.
I went to my local catholic church with my family and witnessed a different faith in action and I went for fish and chips afterwards. I must admit fish and chips is the one meal I crave for from time to time but when I tasted them they weren't as nice as I dreamt of. Tried not to eat too much and eat sweets and tried not to watch too much X Factor, failed on both counts, my mind control still has some way to go.
Total collected £725, total promised in excess of a £1.000. Will only stop when I collect £1.000 for victims of the floods.
