Temporary closure of Liebenrood Road
Southern Gas Networks (SGN) will be closing a short section of the northbound carriageway on Liebenrood Road from tomorrow, between Bath Road and Inglewood Court . The closure is necessary to allow SGN to repair two leaks in their gas main, which is hoped will be the last of many that they have had to repair at the junction.
While the closure is in place, there will be no-left/right-turn restrictions in place from Bath Road , while southbound traffic on Liebenrood Road will be able to travel as normal.
It is anticipated that the closure will only be required for 2 days and I attach the Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice for your information.
Please see below the Statutory Notice of the road closure from Reading Borough Council.
THE BOROUGH OF READING (LIEBENROOD ROAD)
(PART) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2013
Reading Borough Council GIVES NOTICE that part of the northbound carriageway of Liebenrood Road between its junction with Bath Road and Inglewood Court will be closed to all vehicles from 6am on 19 February 2013 for a maximum of 5 days or until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier (it is anticipated that the works will be carried out on 19th and 20th February).
During the temporary closure no person shall except upon the direction or with the permission of a Police Constable in uniform cause or permit any vehicle to turn left or right from Bath Road onto Liebenrood Road
This is in accordance with Sections 1(1) 2(1) and 14(2) of the Road Traffic Act 1984 and the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992.
The purpose of this temporary closure is to permit the repair of a leaking gas main by Southern Gas Networks.
A signed diversion route will be in place, providing access to Tilehurst Road via Russell Street to the east and Honey End Lane to the west.
