Day one of my sponsored fast for the victims of the Pakistan floods

I got up this morning at 3.30am, having only thee and a half hours sleep and had a large bowl of porridge oats, one banana, two pints of water and a pint of orange juice. I finished eating by 3.55am. I can tell you that the middle of the night is lonely and boring, oh and dark! I went back to sleep and had to woken up late by my loved one as I fell back into a deep sleep again. I was absolutely shattered, it was a good job I did not have to eat as I was running late.

The day went well with lots of support from my work colleagues and lots of best wishes messages. Mind you I felt I was being watched and monitored to ensure I was not eating on the sly. The worst part was at lunch time when the main topic of conversation was, you guessed it food. My hunger pangs were calling big time, but I sought solace amongst the real Ramadam observers who were on their twentieth day. I enjoyed the humour and teasing about me not eating sweets and I was able to keep busy and take my mind off food and water.

I did not eat or drink anything until 8.10pm when I had a sandwich at a large public meeting in Calcot. I have had two pints of water and pasta and I think I should be hitting the road to get up at 3,30am for day two of my sponsored fast.

Please do not forget to donate for this worthy cause.
