X Factor, going the same as Big Brother?

Just noticed that the Ultimate Big Brother, the last ever Big Brother programme is coming towards its end. I was a regular viewer of Big Brother when it first started as it was interesting and unpredictable. But slowly BB became a freak show which ridiculed vulnerable people and set up arguments and fights between housemates to the extent that we witnessed bullying live on tv. Car crash tv has a limited shelf life and now hardly any viewers tune into BB. I see that X Factor is back and it has been embroiled in ridiculing contestants and caught in trying to enhance or make singers voices worse. How long before the X Factor brand goes the same way as Big Brother?
