With the international break there has been no Championship football this weekend. This gives Reading FC the chance to relax and get the injured players up to full fitness. One thing that has definitely been impressive with the Royals is the strength of character throughout the team.
Chris Armstrong has been injured since April 2009 and he has been written off as someone who will probably never play again. However, Chris has quietly gone about focusing on getting fit again and coming back to be solid and hard working in midfield. I voted for Chris as player of the year in 2009 and it is great to see him back and playing so well.
Shaun "Second" Cummings was written off last season as a player out of his depth and blamed for Reading's ills at the start of last season. However, Shaun Cummings has quietly gone about his business in the reserves and had the character to seize his opportunity and play well as right back. He will be hard to dislodge at the moment, which makes for an improvement in the Royal's fortunes.
