One of my responsibilities as Lead Councillor for Children's Services is to agree grants for facilities for young people in Reading. I was particularly pleased to visit the Pakistani Community Centre last Thursday, 11th February and see first hand the vibrant youth club that is taking place. I saw over thirty young people enjoying themselves with various activities, including sports games, pool and leisure activities, such as board games take place. I met with the youth leaders and Saleem, the Chair of the PCC to discuss the resources Reading have given to the PCC and how the money can be well spent. I went away enthused by the motivating attitude the leaders of the PCC had and the excellent facilities that are being assembled by the centre.
